Trump doubled down on his mic story later during his interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity Monday evening, adding the microphone was responsible for his softer voice, as well as the sniffing sound.
On Fox News, Donald Trump says he got a “bum mic” at the debate last night because it crackled and was lower than Hillary Clinton’s mic.

“My mic was defective within the room,” Trump told other reporters.”I wonder … Was that on purpose? Was that on purpose?”
Trump also blamed faulty equipment when he failed to condemn white supremacist David Duke for his endorsement in January during the Republican primary. Trump asserted then that he hadn’t heard the reporter’s statement due to a faulty earpiece.
