A quintet of Trump-hating demonstrators crashed a debate-watching party sponsored by conservative students at the University of Michigan on Monday night — yelling “Donald Trump is racist,” banging relentlessly on a drum and getting into a physical altercation.

Young Americans for Freedom, Fox News and National Review co-sponsored the event.

Grant Strobl, a student organizer, told The College Fix that the event was “bipartisan” and that students of all political stripes were welcome.

The locale of the watch party was a University of Michigan auditorium. The debate was projected onto a movie-sized screen.

One of the five protesters — a female — carried a sign reading: “Hitler: Make Germany great again, Trump’s America.”

One watch-party participant — a guy in a blue shirt and a “Make America Great Again” cap — took umbrage at the woman with the sign and got into a scrum with her.

The “Make America Great Again” guy appears to have won. He took the sign and tore it up.

The guy who banged endlessly on the drum appeared to be dressed as Jesus Christ.

Strobl noted that he did not know who the guy in the “Make America Great Again” cap was.

“I don’t know the full details of the fighting outside of the event, but it is dangerous when difference in opinion translates into assault,” he told the Fix. “However, all of the attendees of our event were respectful and engaged.”
