Here’s a tip to marketers out there: If you are proud of the fact that your wares are made in the U.S.A., do not name your company after a significant locale in another country. Take Ontario Knife Company for example. If you asked me where the knives from Ontario Knife Company are made, I would surely guess Ontario, which is a place in Canada. But I would be wrong.
Ontario Knife Company was founded in upstate New York in 1889. For well over a century, it has sold American-made blades, and it relishes a tradition of providing tactical knives and tools to the U.S. military. It’s a shame that people almost certainly think their equipment comes from north of the border. (That might be why they often refer to themselves as OKC, which is a distinctly American site, although also not where they are located).
Anyway, why is this relevant? Because they are currently running a deal on four different blades, such that you can get a necessary American knife for over half off.
