Another weekend of exciting college football games is the books and that means it’s time to look at more playoff power rankings.

If the playoffs started tomorrow these would be the teams with a shot at getting a slot.

1) Ohio State:

The Buckeyes did not look outstanding against a scrappy Indiana team, but still managed to win 38-17. Heisman candidate quarterback J.T. Barrett struggled mightily through the air and threw for only one touchdown and less than one hundred yards. However, he dominated on the ground with 137 yards and a touchdown. The Buckeyes travel to currently eleventh-ranked Wisconsin next weekend, a potential preview of the B1G Conference Championship.

2) Michigan:

The Wolverines are the real deal, and a 78-0 blowout of Rutgers was only the latest evidence. The team rushed for almost five hundred yards and nine touchdowns. That’s a rushing attack you can’t find anywhere else in America and, to be blunt, there isn’t a close second. An undefeated Michigan meeting an undefeated OSU at the end of the season would be incredible for college football.

3) Clemson:

Clemson put a 56-10 smackdown on Boston College this week, and Deshaun Watson finally looks like he’s back into prime form. The Heisman finalist tossed four touchdowns and 266 yards. The Tigers already beat Louisville and appear to have all cylinders firing as they blast through conference play.

4) Alabama:

The Crimson Tide looked very solid on offense in their 49-30 victory over Arkansas. Quarterback Jalen Hurts had four touchdowns and almost three hundred yards of total offense. However, the Alabama defense gave up 30 points to a Razorbacks team that shouldn’t be ranked in the top 25. The only team in the SEC capable of beating Alabama is Texas A&M. I can’t remember the last time the SEC was this weak, and there’s no excuse for Alabama to lose a single game left on their schedule.

5) Washington:

The Huskies dropped Oregon to the tune of 70-21. An absolutely dominating performance from Chris Petersen’s team. Quarterback Jake Browning threw for 304 yards and six touchdowns. Not even a contest. Washington looks like an absolutely daunting team headed down the stretch.

6) Texas A&M:

The Aggies of College Station beat Tennessee 45-38 in a double overtime barn burner. Quarterback Trevor Knight had five touchdowns and 359 yards of total offense. Texas A&M plays Alabama next and Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban has struggled big time to stop dual-threat quarterbacks. Alabama’s losses under the Saban regime have almost all come exclusively against running quarterbacks, and Knight is one of the best in America. There is an opportunity for the Aggies to shake up the world of college football when they travel to Tuscaloosa.

We’ll find out next week which teams rise and which teams fall.
