A white man reenacted the conquest of America Monday night, using his car to run over American Indian Movement (AIM) protesters who were blocking the road to protest against Columbus day.

A video uploaded Monday shows a man in a white pickup attempting to get past a blockade of several dozen protesters demanding that the U.S. “Abolish KKKolumbus Day.”

The man repeatedly honks his horn, revs his engine and yells at protesters to get out of the way. Eventually, though, the driver decides he’s had enough, and speeds off into the night, while protesters who attempt to halt his progress are left flailing in the truck’s wake.

WATCH:

As soon as the driver made off, the aggressive anti-establishment protesters suddenly became very interested in police protection.

One protesters was hospitalized with several small fractures after being hit, but otherwise there appear to have been no substantial injuries. Nevertheless, one of the lead protesters, Quanah Brightman, demanded the driver be imprisoned for the rest of his life.

“This is a hate crime,” Brightman told the Reno Gazette Journal. “It’s still brutal to see this kind of racism in America. That man deserves life [in prison] for what he did.”

The driver will likely have a ready defense for his actions. In the video a protester menacingly warns, “I’ll tear you out of that car, you little fuck.” Another video from a different angle makes it clear that a protester attempted to open the truck door just moments before it took off.

Reno police chief Jason Soto said his department has identified the driver of the car, but is still reviewing evidence and has made no arrests. Soto also noted that the anti-Columbus Day protest didn’t have a permit and therefore was acting illegally by blocking the street.
