Hillary Clinton aides courted Apple CEO Tim Cook in a backdoor meeting to garner his support for the Democratic nominee, according to a June 2015 e-mail released through WikiLeaks Tuesday.

Chief Technology Officer for Clinton’s 2016 campaign, Stephanie Hannon, wrote to Lindsay Roitman, its chief national finance director, saying she heard Roitman is “visiting Tim Cook on Monday.”

“I would love to (kill to) join you if appropriate,” Hannon writes in the e-mail.

Roitman responds to Hannon a day later, saying, “Tim’s office requested a 1:1 meeting today.” It was a “no staff” meeting, meaning no one else was allowed in the room except Roitman and Cook.

Knowing Cook is a potential big donor and the CEO of the wealthiest corporation in the world, Roitman notes, “I think this is one we should proceed cautiously.”

“He’s supportive, but new to this so I think we shouldn’t come on too strong,” Roitman says. (RELATED: Hillary Clinton Made $270,000 An Hour During A Fundraising Spree With Hollywood Elites)

“Understood,” Hannon replies.

This meeting was successful for the Clinton campaign. Cook hosted a $50,000 per-plate fundraiser for Clinton in August of 2016.
