Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi believes that House Democrats will be able to retake control of both chambers of Congress in November, according to a Thursday report from The Hill.

“There is a sense that what happened Friday is a game-changer,” spokesman for the House Majority PAC Jeb Fain told The Hill in reference to Trump’s 2005 comments about women. “The districts that are close are going to start moving our way.”

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chairman Ben Lujan was on a conference call Tuesday, where Pelosi asserted that Democrats would win the House if the race were held today. Lujan reportedly stated that Democrats “are expanding our universe of opportunities” in light of the Republican turmoil.

“Put simply, with such a positive environment for Democrats, our budgets will ultimately be our biggest limitation,” Lujan added.

Republicans disagree.

“We hear Democrats predict cycle after cycle that they can win the majority, but it’s clear their talking points are the definition of insanity,” spokeswoman for the National Republican Congressional Committee Katie Martin said Wednesday in an email. “Our members’ hard work is recognized by their constituents and will be rewarded this fall.”

Democrats have some polling to back up their arguments. They are making headway against two Republicans who were widely considered safe just a few short months ago. Republican Rep. Darrell Issa from California and Rep. John Mica from Florida are polling much closer than the legendary incumbents should be. Democratic internal polling showed both candidates behind their respective Democratic challenger, but Issa’s internal polling revealed an 8 point lead for the Republican Congressman.

House Democrats need to win 30 seats in November in order to regain the majority, according to an April analysis by Roll Call. Although Democrats are polling much better in two races than they originally thought, Dems have a long road to that number.

UVa’s Crystal Ball says that House Democrats are set to pick up seven Republican seats, with 13 GOP-held seats listed as “toss-up.” Republicans are set to win one Florida Democratic seat, which means it is possible for Democrats to pick up 19 seats if they win all of the toss-up races. In order to gain the 30 seat mark, Democrats will have to unseat conservative stalwarts like Reps. Barbara Comstock, Mia Love, and Darrell Issa.
