Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta told his lobbyist brother Tony that President Obama did not have much a relationship with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

John Podesta confirmed this in a August 8, 2015 e-mail that was posted on the Wikileaks site Thursday morning.

Politico reported on the chilly relationship between the two four years ago during the president’s re-election. Cuomo supported the president at events where both were present but not in the same full spirited manner that other Obama surrogates had done so.

Additionally, according to Politico, Obama seemed to spotlight New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman over Cuomo during the campaign by praising him at fundraiser when Obama announced he officially supported same-sex marriage as well as appointing the AG to chair a joint task force on the mortgage crisis.

Cuomo has had his own presidential aspirations, but his current relationship with the White House may make it a difficult journey.
