Soylent, the meal-replacement company, announced Wednesday that it is shutting down sales of one its products after multiple consumer reports of vomiting, diarrhea and nausea.

“It has come to our attention that a small number of our customers have experienced gastrointestinal issues after consuming Soylent Bars. As a precautionary measure, we are halting all Soylent Bar purchases and shipments and are advising our customers to discard any remaining bars in their possession,” Soylent said on an official blog post.

A fellow Daily Caller News Foundation reporter ate the bar very recently and is now out sick.

The Soylent Bar was introduced to the market only roughly a month ago.

The business said it is still looking into the potential cause of illnesses customers have complained about.

Soylent’s main product, a powder-based concoction of various nutritional ingredients, is believed to be innocuous.

“Though our investigation into this matter continues, we have decided to err on the side of caution and take this preventative step,” the blog post continues. “We will be reaching out via e-mail to all Bar customers to offer a full refund.”

City officials in Los Angeles filed charges against the CEO of Soylent, Rob Rhinehart, for creating a makeshift home in the Montecito Heights hillside and then abandoning it in a dilapidated state.
