Female Twitter users are tweeting their support for Donald Trump using the hashtag #WomenWhoVoteTrump, which has trended on the social media site with more than 75,000 tweets.

Trump has faced a difficult week in the polls, particularly among female voters, after an 11-year-old “Access Hollywood” audiotape resurfaced of the presidential hopeful referring to women in a demeaning manner in a conversation with Billy Bush. Additionally, mainstream media sources have been awash with stories about cases of Trump allegedly sexually assaulting various women.

A FiveThirtEight article by Nate Silver showed that it was Trump’s relative lack of support among female voters that was doing him the most harm.

Soon after the article was published, the Twitterverse exploded with tweets to #repealthe19th, which is the amendment that gave women the constitutional right to vote. However, a Washington Post article showed that the overwhelming majority of users making use of the hashtag were liberals expressing their anger that the sentiment had been expressed at all. Out of 1,000 tweets analyzed “a little more than one hundred” were from actual Trump supporters.

In response to this negative press, the National Women for Trump group released a statement using the hashtag #WomenWhoVoteTrump, which prompted a storm of tweets from women explaining why they continue to support the Republican nominee in his race against Hillary Clinton to become president.

These female Trump supporters cite their mistrust of Hillary Clinton and the establishment and a desire for a safer America as reasons for why they’re supporting their candidate.
