An Apollo 14 astronaut asked Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta to meet with him to discuss UFOs, aliens and other conspiracy theories, according to hacked emails released by WikiLeaks.

The email was sent by Apollo 14 astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell’s representative Terri Mansfield, in an attempt to arrange a meeting to start disclosing documents about how zero-point energy from aliens could save the planet from global warming. It’s not clear if Podesta took the meeting, but he has consistently called for the government to release more information on UFOs.

“We work with specific [Extraterrestrial Intelligence] ETI from a contiguous universe,” the email said. “They are nonviolent and in complete obedience to God.  Our ETI’s connection to zero point energy is obvious in that their purpose is to guide Edgar’s international Quantrek science team to apply their zero point energy research for humanity, to move away from the use of fossil fuels which are so deleterious to our fragile planet.”

Mitchell, Alan Shepard and Stuart Roosa were the crew of Apollo 14, which landed on the moon Feb. 5, 1971. Mitchell was the sixth man to walk on the lunar surface. He appears to hope that Podesta’s Catholic beliefs would encourage him to meet. The former astronaut apparently founded the firm Quantrek which allegedly studies alien technology. The email appears to be an attempt to get Podesta interested in the firm.

In addition to his distinguished scientific career with NASA, Mitchell was a strong believer in the supernatural and aliens.

“Quantrek’s science intuitive, Dr. Suzanne Mendelssohn, also a practicing Catholic, advises the Quantrek team as to the specific Tau neutrino which is the foundation for zero point energy, something CERN scientists have begun to study, as well as scientists all over the planet,” the email chain continues. “Because of the recent demonstrations addressing the overwhelming issue of climate change, and President Obama’s own concern, we feel the timing is perfect to meet with John to map out a plan involving Disclosure and zero point energy.”

Mitchell, one of only 12 human beings to walk on the moon, died in February of this year meaning only seven moonwalkers still live.

In 2002, Podesta spoke at the National Press Club to encourage the government to release whatever information it had about investigations into unidentified flying objects.  He also tweeted in 2014 that his failure  to secure the release of UFO files was his “biggest failure” of the year.
