More voters under the age of 35 believe communism is the best political and economic option for America, according to a private poll published Monday by Victims Of Communism.

Fifty-three percent of millennials believe that capitalism in its current form works against them, with 40 percent calling for a “complete change” of the American economic system in order to ensure that the top earners pay their “fair share.”

A large majority, 71 percent, of voters agreed with the self-described socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders’s economic ideas. Only 55 percent agreed with the ideas of noted capitalist and economist Milton Friedman.

Thirty-two percent of millennials, and 26 percent of Americans, believe that more people were killed as a result of the policies of former President George W. Bush than under Joseph Stalin during his rule of the U.S.S.R.

Forty-five percent of voters aged 20 and younger would support an open “socialist,” compared to 21 percent who would support a “communist” candidate.

“One of the concerns the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation has had since its establishment is that an emerging generation of Americans have little understanding of the collectivist system and its dark history,” Executive director of Victims of Communism Marion Smith said in the official press release. “Unfortunately, this Report, which we intend to release on an annual basis, confirms this worrisome impression.”

The poll also found that very few American voters know about communist leaders. Only 40 percent know who Che Guevara is, compared to 18 percent who knew Stalin, and 18 percent who knew Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Sanders obtained the largest number of youth votes compared to any other candidate during the primaries. Sanders earned 2,052,081 votes from those under 35, compared to 828,675 for Republican nominee Donald Trump and 766,425 for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
