The Hillary Clinton campaign last year flagged a “huge” gender pay gap at the Clinton Foundation, newly leaked emails show.

“Essentially here are the key take aways: 3 out of the 11 highest paid employees of the Foundation are women,” Karuna Seshasai, a future Clinton campaign staffer, wrote in a Feb. 24, 2015 email released by Wikileaks on Tuesday.

Seshasai had been put to the task of analyzing Clinton Foundation pay after the publication of reports showing a gender pay gap at Clinton’s Senate office.

The former secretary of state has billed herself as a champion of equal pay. She adheres to the disproved claim that women are paid 77 cents for every dollar paid to men doing the same work.

Seshasai went on to lay out the massive gender pay gap at Clinton’s family charity.

“Avg salary of the highest paid men is $294,157.50, while the avg salary of the highest paid women is $181,576.66 ($112K difference),” she wrote.

“Median salary of the highest paid men is $346,106, while the median salary of the highest paid women is $185,386 ($190K difference).”

Ian Mandel, another future Clinton campaign staffer, forwarded the research, which was based on tax filings from 2013, to Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook and Tony Clarrk, the campaign’s research director.

“Given the story yesterday about pay equity at the State Department, I wanted to flag something that came out of our research on pay equity at the Foundation,” wrote Mandel. “There are huge discrepancies, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they went here next.”

Though Mandel referred to pay gaps at Clinton’s State Department, just the day before his email, The Washington Free Beacon published a report noting that Clinton’s Senate office paid female staffers 72 cents for every dollar paid to male staffers.

Cheryl Mills, a Clinton Foundation board member and Clinton’s State Department chief of staff, chimed in on the email to tell Mook that directed Mandel to research the Clinton Foundation pay gap.

“I sent the story to Ian and flagged it for them as this was where they needed to look next,” she wrote.

The hefty pay gap at the foundation did not make the news until this year, when The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Richard Pollock laid out the stats. (RELATED: Pay Gap Alert: Clinton Foundation Male Execs Earn 38 Percent More Than Women)

Pollock cited Clinton’s remarks at an “Equal Pay Day” speech she gave in April.

“I feel like [equal pay] is something that’s long overdue,” she said.

“It is way past time to end the outrage of so many women still earning less than men on the job.”
