Colin Powell is the latest Republican to publicly announce he is voting for Hillary Clinton.

The retired four-star general served as secretary of state under George W. Bush, and he told a crowd of business leaders at an event hosted by the Long Island Association that Clinton will “serve with distinction” as president.

Huffington Post reports he is joining a growing list of fellow Bush alumni in opposing Republican nominee Donald Trump.
The Daily Caller reported in September that Powell’s personal emails — as revealed by hacktivist group DC Leaks — showed the Clinton campaign repeatedly pressured him to endorse her over Trump. (RELATED: Colin Powell’s Hacked Emails Show Him Being Pressured To Endorse Hillary)
Powell himself confirmed the authenticity of the emails to TheDC.
This isn’t the first time Powell has endorsed a Democrat.
In both 2008 and 2012, he endorsed Barack Obama over John McCain and Mitt Romney, respectively.
