Juanita Broaddrick found herself at the center of a national scandal when she accused Bill Clinton of rape in 1999 — when he was the president. The Arkansas woman alleged that he raped her when he was the attorney general in 1978.

Broaddrick resurfaced when Donald Trump invited her, and several other Clinton accusers, to the second presidential debate in St. Louis. The Republican nominee referenced the women and Clinton’s sexual assault allegations during the debate. “Bill Clinton was abusive to women,” Trump said to the audience at Washington University. “Hillary Clinton attacked those same women and attacked them viciously.”

“If you look at Bill Clinton — far worse. Mine are words and his were actions. There’s never been anybody in the history of politics in this nation that’s been so abusive to women.”
