Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump may have predicted Anthony Weiner’s involvement in the Hillary Clinton email scandal over a year before reports broke Friday the FBI was reopening its investigation into the matter.

“Huma Abedin, the top aide to Hillary Clinton and the wife of perv sleazebag Anthony Wiener, was a major security risk as a collector of info,” Trump tweeted on August 31, 2015.

The New York Times reported shortly after news broke of the FBI re-opening its case on Clinton’s emails Friday that agents decided to take it up again after finding new materials while investigating Weiner’s sexting. Weiner is the estranged husband of Huma Abedin, a top aide to Hillary Clinton. The two separated in August after it was revealed the former New York congressman had been caught sending lewd pictures to women again. Trump reechoed his 2015 claim that Weiner’s relationship with Abedin presents a security risk in July, before the two had separated.

“I mean her No. 1 person, Huma Abedin, is married to Anthony Weiner, who’s a sleazeball and a pervert. And I’m not saying that, I mean that’s recorded history, right? I don’t like Huma going home at night and telling Anthony Weiner all of these secrets, OK?” Trump said in a late July press conference.

The New York businessman has long been critical of Weiner and his infamous sexting habits. (RELATED: Trump Warned Huma About Weiner Back In 2013)
