Video of Arcan Cetin’s Sept. 23 mall shooting rampage surfaced Oct. 28, showing Cetin methodically targeting innocent mall shoppers.
Cetin is charged with five counts of murder in the first degree and is being held on a $2 million bail. He is a legal permanent resident of the U.S. who emigrated from Turkey as a young child. Cetin reportedly had a history of assault charges, including punching his step-father in the face and throwing household items at home.
Cetin’s classmates say he often inappropriately touched his female classmates, and was ostracized by his high school peers. Court records obtained by the Associated Press reveal Cetin blamed his troubled behavior on marijuana use and alcohol. Authorities have not yet specified Cetin’s motive, or given any indication of a connection to international terrorism.
