Newly discovered emails relating to Hillary Clinton’s private email server were found on the laptop of former congressman Anthony Weiner, estranged husband to Clinton senior aide Huma Abedin, are new and not duplicates from the previously closed Clinton investigation, CBS News reports.

After receiving a warrant this week to go through the 650,000 pieces of email found on the laptop shared by Abedin and Weiner, the FBI used software to examine the new emails to start a comparison search of what they had already found.

The emails came to light when FBI Director James Comey announced last week to Congress that the bureau planned to take another look at the Clinton server investigation as an unrelated case, Weiner’s alleged sex messaging to a minor in North Carolina, brought up new pieces of evidence potentially related to the Clinton email case.

Former U.S. Attorney Joe DiGenova told The Daily Caller Thursday he would not be surprised if Clinton’s deleted emails were on the laptop seized by the agency.

“Hillary Clinton had committed perjury on Capitol Hill. She had lied to the FBI during her interview on the July 4 weekend annd that, in fact, the 33,000 emails are probably on the laptop that she deleted,” DiGenova said.
