Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton staffer and longtime advisor John Podesta consulted with an contractor about the best line of attack against Sen. Bernie Sanders, according to an email leaked Thursday.

“Bernie needs to be ground to a pulp. We can’t start believing our own primary bullshit. This is no time to run the general,” legislative consultant Joel Johnson remarked to Podesta in a February, 2016, email titled “Friendly advice, No mercy.” “Crush him as hard as you can. Other than that, hope all is well and congrats on Nevada!”

“I agree with that in principle,” Podesta responded. “Where would you stick the knife in?”

“Obama betrayer (Wh will affirm). Hapless legislator (Senators/members will affirm). False promiser (policy elites will affirm). Can’t win (black people will affirm),” Johnson asserts.

Interestingly enough, Clinton struggles with motivating black voters to early voting in her favor, a fact that has Democrats worried. President Barack Obama admitted Wednesday that black voters haven’t turned out in ‘strong’ numbers.

“You know what, I need everybody to understand that everything we’ve done is dependent on me being able to pass the baton to somebody who believes in the same things that I believe in. So if you really care about my presidency and what we’ve accomplished, then you are going to go and vote,” Obama said in a Tuesday interview with the Tom Joyner morning show.
