“If you’ve been watching the polls, you have seen that things have tightened up significantly — we are tied nationally, and Trump is pulling ahead in several key battleground states — and it’s got me a little on-edge,” Democratic Party deputy communications director Eric Walker said in a fundraising email Thursday.

Since the announcement that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has re-opened its criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, Donald Trump has been surging in key polls and Democrats have been getting nervous.

Three polls came out of the key swing state of New Hampshire Thursday, two show Trump ahead and one shows him tied with Clinton. Every New Hampshire poll that has come out from July until the end of October had Hillary ahead of Trump in the swing state.

In Colorado, another battleground state that has been heavily favored towards Clinton, a Denver University poll came out Thursday that shows Trump and Clinton tied. On Wednesday, a Hampton University poll of Virginia shows effectively how the FBI’s announcement changed the race. The poll was conducted before and after Comey’s letter to Congress and on Friday, the day of the re-opening of the investigation, Clinton was ahead of Trump by 2 percent. By Sunday, Trump was ahead of Clinton by 4 percent in the Virginia poll.

The Trump comeback in polls has also been seen on the national level. In the RealClearPolitics average of national polling, Clinton is ahead by a 1.7 percent margin. Just two weeks ago, she was ahead in the same polling average by 7.1 percent.
