Former New Hampshire Governor John H. Sununu took a serious swipe at Hillary Clinton Friday when he spoke at a Donald Trump rally in Atkinson, NH before the Republican nominee took the stage.

“Do you think Bill was referring to Hillary when he said, ‘I did not have sex with that woman’?” joked Sununu, suggesting that the former president didn’t want to have sex with his own wife. The crowd reacted positively to the gag. Sununu was referring to the famous Bill Clinton line, when the president denied having a sexual relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, a claim he later went back on.

Sununu urged the crowd to vote for Trump, acknowledging that some of them may have had reservations. The former governor endorsed Trump after the first debate in September.

Sununu’s family is very big in New Hampshire politics – his son, Chris, is running to be the next Governor of New Hampshire and his other son, John E. Sununu, is a former GOP Senator for the state.

New Hampshire is a part of Hillary Clinton’s swing state “firewall,” but recent polls there show the vote may be closer than expected. CNN recently moved New Hampshire into their “battleground” category from “lean Democrat.”
