Hillary Invokes Trayvon Martin, Omits Relevant Details

The tragic Trayvon Martin case is the latest card Hillary Clinton is using. Once again, she fails to tell the full story. Hillary claimed Trayvon was just walking home in the rain after buying some Skittles.

To put it mildly, she omitted some important details. Like the fact that a jury found the shooting was a case of self-defense, and that the Obama Administration’s Justice Department declined to file charges.

Massad Ayoob, a New Hampshire police officer and self-defense trainer who is perhaps the foremost expert on the legal use of deadly force, did a full review of the Trayvon Martin case that covered twenty posts. A condensed version of his recounting of the case is here.

Another Month, Another Record

It seems that every month is a record-setting month when it comes to gun sales. According to Ammoland.com, October blew away the latest record.

It wasn’t even close – October 2016 sales exceeded the previous record total (from 2015, I might add) by 350,000. In other words, we have seen people exercising their Second Amendment rights lately – and it has been at a record-shattering pace for well over a year and a half.

The report notes that by the time we see President Obama leave office, there will be at least 400 million firearms in private hands. It’s a huge reverse for the gun-grabbers. Because the more firearms that are out there, the harder it is for them to implement the plan that Nelson “Pete” Shields outlined four decades ago.

“The first problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns being produced and sold in this country. The second is to get handguns registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition – except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors – totally illegal.”

Let’s work to make it even more impossible, shall we?

The Atlantic Accidentally Reveals Why The Second Amendment Matters

It has often been said that the Second Amendment isn’t about duck hunting – usually when some gun-grabber claims a semi-auto ban won’t affect deer season. Well, it now seems that The Atlantic has unintentionally added a point to it.

We go to Venezuela, where first Hugo Chavez and now Nicolas Maduro have run that country into the ground. They can’t even provide enough toilet paper there! People want change… but Maduro has declared he won’t leave. In fact, he is really working to stay in using measures that make the IRS targeting of the Tea Party look like a Sunday School picnic. People are upset, but can’t do much. Why?

Here’s what The Atlantic reported: “So, men with guns. The military, but not just the military.

“It’s the paramilitarization of the ruling party. So [the] PSUV, or Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela, has what are called colectivos. [These are] sort of grassroots supporter civilians who are armed and organized. What they are is paramilitaries. They are armed civilian groups that support the government. The degree of tactical cooperation between the armed security forces and these paramilitary groups is shocking now and really, they’re not trying to hide it.”

Four years ago, Venezuela banned private gun ownership. The justification? A very high murder rate. Seems, though, that the gun control law did more to enable a tyrant than to protect the citizenry.

Here is the full article. Share it with a gun-grabber the next time they ask why you oppose banning the AR-15.

Senator Hatch Slams Obama Pardons

We’ve always been willing to bash the gun-grabbers for their usual… nonsense. However, when there is a good friend who drops a common-sense bomb on the gun-grabbers, they deserve applause.

Senator Orrin Hatch is one such friend. On Wednesday, he took on Barack Obama’s pardon-fest. Whole Obama claims he is only commuting the sentences of non-violent offenders, many of those prosecuted violated federal gun laws.

“Among the 98 offenders receiving commutations are 19 individuals convicted of firearm offenses, including use of a firearm during a drug-trafficking crime,” Hatch noted, later adding, “These are not 18-year-olds selling small amounts of marijuana to their friends in the locker room. These are hard-core drug traffickers. Many were caught with more than a kilogram of cocaine or heroin.”

Yeah, Hatch has been in DC for forty years. But he is also President pro tempore of the Senate, and deserves credit for helping get pro-Second Amendment justices like Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito confirmed. We can do far worse than Orrin Hatch in the Senate, especially when he stands up for us. That warrants us standing for him.

The Election

This is obviously the big story. Not only are our Second Amendment rights on the ballot, but our ability to even make the argument in favor of preserving them is at stake. Review last week’s lede item, then get out and vote, and encourage others to vote as well in support of our Second Amendment rights!
