Someone walked out of a Brooklyn cathedral with a 4-foot tall gold statue last week and police are investigating the act of thievery.

Surveillance video shows the slicked-hair suspect ambling up the red carpet with the shiny scepter protruding from both ends of his long jacket.

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Sheepshead Bay in New York seemed empty at the time.

Police say the suspect also store another relic along with $30 in cash, according to the Associated Press.

The artifacts were later found on a stairwell in a building nearby, but the suspect has still not been identified or apprehended.

A Virgin Mary statue outside of a Brooklyn church was tampered with roughly two years ago after a red substance was discovered near the head. People mistook the act of vandalism as a sign of divinity.

A man was caught on video knocking over a statue outside of another Brooklyn church in a separate incident in February. Security cameras were installed years prior after a number of vandalism incidents occurred in a short time period.
