Donald Trump announced at a rally in New Hampshire Monday night that New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady have told him they want to Make America Great Again.

“[Tom Brady] called today and he said, ‘Donald I support you, you’re my friend and I voted for you,'” Trump said.

The Republican nominee has talked frequently about his friendship with the Patriots quarterback. When he spoke to Brady, Trump asked him, “So Tom, you voted for me you support me, am I allowed to say it tonight to this massive crowd in New Hampshire? He said, ‘If you want to say it, you can say it.'”

Trump said, “That is what a champ is all about.” He then teased about a person close to Brady who also reached out to him.

Trump continued to say, “I was in the plane and they handed me a letter and it was from Coach Belichick and he wrote me the most beautiful letter and it was only two hours ago. So we called back, we said, ‘Do you think that Mr. Trump could read that letter to the people of New Hampshire?'”

“He said ‘absolutely, if you’d like, but do me a favor don’t read that letter let me send one that’s a little bit different,'”Trump said. The Republican nominee then said that he was worried that Belichick would take “all the good things” out of the letter, “like most gutless people do but he’s a champ.” Trump said the new letter was “stronger” and then read it out loud.

“So he writes, ‘Congratulations on a tremendous campaign. You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media and have come out beautifully, beautifully. You’ve proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter, your leadership is amazing. I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and the perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable. Hopefully in tomorrow’s election the results will give the opportunity to make America great again. Best wishes for great results tomorrow, Bill Belichick,” Trump said.

Trump had teased a big announcement earlier in the day, and tweeted, “Big news to share in New Hampshire tonight! Polls looking great! See you soon.”

Before winning the Indiana Republican primary, Trump secured the endorsement of legendary Indiana basketball coach Bobby Knight.
