The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is reportedly preparing for “riot mode” if Republican nominee Donald Trump wins the election Tuesday.

“Tempers are frayed in a number of our communities from the inflammatory language and policies that some have proposed,” a source told Deadline. “If the outcome sees Mr. Trump elected, measures are in place to maintain calm, if need be.”

Lieutenant Chris Ramirez added, “We don’t want anything to go sideways.”

If riots do occur, this won’t be the first time that Trump inadvertently sparked unrest in Southern California. Outside of a Trump rally last April in Orange County, violent protests occurred and a cop car was destroyed.

Again in May, protestors outside of a Trump event in Anaheim threw rocks, set trash cans on fire, and ignored police commands.

And outside a rally in June, Trump supporters were beaten and bloodied while a woman was cornered, screamed at, and pelted with food by anti-Trump protestors.
