Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump won Utah Tuesday during the presidential election, securing an additional six electoral votes.

Trump pulled ahead of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, winning Utah according to reports from Fox News, ABC News and NBC News.

Utah, a key battleground for the election, has been a staunchly Republican state. Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight poll gave Trump an 84 percent chance of winning the state, and Clinton a 4 percent chance.

Independent candidate Evan McMullin posed a small threat to Clinton and Trump. McMullin, a Morman, entered the presidential race in August as an alternative for Republicans unhappy with Trump.

McMullin’s campaign raised about half a million in two months. He was put on the ballot in 11 states and was an option for a write in for about 30 states.  He polled well with 18-34 year-olds in Utah.

According to a Real Clear Politics poll from Oct.29 to Nov.3, Trump polled at 37.4 percent, Clinton polled at 27 percent and McMullin polled a close third at 25 percent.

As of Oct.19, Trump received $532,359 in campaign contributions from Utah, while Clinton received $1,110,081. McMullin brought in $63,389, according to the Federal Election Commission.

A candidate needs a total of 270 electoral votes to win the presidency.
