French special forces embedded with Western-backed Syrian rebels purportedly destroyed an Islamic State car bomb after the rebels missed the target.
Director of Intelligence at Prime Source Michael Horowitz noted on Twitter that the missile may have been a U.S.-made Javelin anti-tank missile.
The Syrian rebels firing on the car bomb are allegedly the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Syrian rebels the U.S. relies on heavily to counter ISIS. Current U.S. plans to retake the ISIS capital of Raqqa depend on continued Western support to the SDF. The U.S. reportedly has nearly 300 special operators embedded with the SDF, who are reportedly accompanied by other Western special operators.
