NBC and CBS devoted more coverage Tuesday morning to a white nationalist conference that gathered this past weekend then they have given to the March for Life in the past four years, an analysis from the Media Research Center reveals.

The National Policy Institute conference in Washington Saturday drew a crowd of between 200 and 300 people, while the March for Life brings tens of thousands to D.C. every January.

According to the Media Research Center, NBC and CBS gave the NPI conference five minutes and 17 seconds of coverage Tuesday morning. In the past four years the two networks have given three times less coverage to the March for Life, one minute and 40 seconds. (RELATED: SURPRISE! CNN Makes A False Claim And Press Picks It Up)

The coverage from the two networks focused on tying Trump to the white nationalist group. For example, Matt Lauer said: “In terms of speaking to Americans, we just saw Hallie’s report on that gathering of white nationalists in Washington over the weekend. We saw that Heil Trump salute that looked so much like a Heil Hitler salute. What does President-elect Trump need to say about that right now to stop that in its tracks?”

During a meeting with The New York Times Tuesday afternoon, Trump was asked about alt right supporters. He said, “It’s not a group I want to energize. And if they are energized I want to look into it and find out why.”
