As part of a prank, someone anonymously volunteered a first sergeant in the Army to sing the American national anthem at Fort Knox, prompting that first sergeant to accidentally write an angry reply-all email to the entire battalion.

The first sergeant was informed of the prank after he received an email Monday, which was posted to the Facebook page “U.S. Army W.T.F! moments.”

“1SG [REDACTED], thanks for volunteering!” the Nov. 28 email read. “We have you on the program.”

In response, the first sergeant wrote a reply-all email and exploded when he realized that someone had volunteered him to sing the anthem at Fort Knox.

“As proud as I am to be in this lovely land we call America,” the first sergeant wrote to the entire battalion. “I did not volunteer, however, once I find out the ass clown who submitted my name I will choke the shit out of them.”

While The Daily Caller News Foundation could not independently verify the authenticity of the email, the Facebook page has a history of posting credible insider information from the Army. For example, TheDCNF first reported that an Army operational security brief listed then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton as an example of an insider threat–based on a picture of the slide uploaded by the page. The Army later verified the authenticity of the brief to TheDCNF.

Fort Knox did not respond to a request for comment from TheDCNF by press time.
