Mexico’s foreign minister Claudia Ruiz Massieu wrote Tuesday that she dreams of a world without walls, as her country braces for a wave of deported immigrants.
Massieu was hosting Austin, Texas Mayor Steve Adler and visited a Martin Luther King Jr. exhibition with him at a Mexican museum. She wrote in chalk, “I have a dream [of] a world without walls where diversity is appreciated.”

Mexican government officials have been preparing for the prospect of an influx of deported immigrants during President-elect Donald Trump’s administration. Hector Astudiollo, governor of the southern state of Guerrero, said, “Of course Guerrero is not in any condition to receive the million or more than one million migrants” in the U.S.”
There are worries about a lack of jobs for immigrants deported back to Mexico and the possibility of taking in more than a million criminals.
