On Thursday, Palmieri told Conway that Trump only won because he provided a “platform for white supremacists,” and that she would “rather lose than win the way” Trump did. (RELATED: Clinton Aides Melt Down At Harvard)

Conway told the CBS Morning team that she took Palmieri’s allegations quite personally.

“It’s not a face. It’s just completely false,” Conway said of Palmier’s claim. “That is why I asked Jen Palmieri if she would look me in the eye and tell me I ran a campaign that would allow that.”

“She said yes, she would,” clarified host Gayle King.

“And that is unfortunate,” Conway conceded. “I took that personally, and I know it’s not true, Gayle.”

“President-elect Trump has denounced every single element of that awful movement,” she continued. “He’s never met these people. He doesn’t ask for their endorsement. He’s denounced it on-the-record in an interview with ‘The New York Times’ last week.”

“I think some people are stuck in the permanent campaign, and they ought to realize that Donald Trump won 306 electoral states… It tells you that people across America were attracted to his message.”
