Republican President-elect Donald Trump is looking for people who “look the part” to fill his cabinet, and former ambassador to the UN John Bolton just didn’t match what Trump was looking for, according to a Thursday report in The Washington Post.

Trump ended up nominating ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson as secretary of state, an unusual pick due to the fact that Tillerson has not had any government experience, a first for that position.

Sources close to Trump told the Post that Bolton’s mustache didn’t do him any favors, adding that there weren’t any staffers close to Trump with a mustache.

“Donald was not going to like that mustache,” an unnamed staffer told the Post. “I can’t think of anyone that’s really close to Donald that has a beard that he likes.”

Trump also considered former Gov. Mitt Romney, Sen. Bob Corker, and former ambassador Jon Huntsman for the top post, before announcing he would formally nominate Tillerson last week.
