Russian authorities have released a report on the black box found in the wreckage of a military plane that veered off course and crashed in the Black Sea on Christmas Day, killing all 92 people on board.

The flight data recorder, discovered at the bottom of the Black Sea Tuesday, indicates a problem with the wing flaps which steer the plane. The crash happened minutes after leaving the airport in Sochi, Russia, just moments after pilots retracted the landing gear. (RELATED: Russian Military Jet Carrying Famous Military Band Plunges Into Black Sea)

The BBC reports a translation of the last words spoken in the cockpit:

Pilots’ last words:

  • “Speed 300 (inaudible).”
  • “(Inaudible).”
  • “I’ve pulled in the landing gear, commander.”
  • “(Inaudible).”
  • “Oh bloody hell!”

Piercing alarm sounds

  • “The flaps, hell, what a … !”
  • “The altimeter [altitude meter]!”
  • “We’re in … (inaudible).”

Alarm sounds about dangerous proximity to the ground

  • “(Inaudible).”
  • “Commander we’re falling!”

All 92 people on board, including passengers and the crew, perished in the crash. Among other journalists and artists on the roster, the flight carried the 64-member Alexandrov Ensemble, also called the Red Army Choir, which was on its way to perform for Russian soldiers stationed in Syria during the Christmas holiday.
