Charles Krauthammer told Fox News’ Bret Baier Tuesday that Senate Democrats “did not succeed in laying a glove” on Jeff Sessions during his Tuesday attorney general confirmation hearing.

The conservative analyst noted Sessions “did extremely well” before breaking down the Alabama Republican’s performance in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Krauthammer noted one moment in particular, when a “Democratic Senator was asking him about awards he got from various obscure groups and then, quoting from a member or two of those groups and asking him to return the award.”

“The quotations were so weak he didn’t even know why he was asking,” the conservative pundit continued. “And then the chairman of the committee, Chuck Grassley, ridiculed the idea that you could even keep track of all the groups you receive awards from if you are in the Senate.”
“It showed how unserious it had become,” Krauthammer concluded. “He gave all the right answers.”
