I’m not going to pretend to understand the reasoning behind the following question, which Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) just asked Congressman Mike Pompeo (R-KS), who is Donald Trump’s pick for CIA director:

I suppose that if the director of the Central Intelligence Agency had any problem whatsoever with NASA’s findings about globalwarmingclimatechange, it might affect his ability to… um… y’know, in terms of the day-to-day, er, sort of…
Okay, I give up. I don’t know what that has to do with anything. I guess the Dems figure that these confirmation hearings are a pointless formality anyway, that they can’t avoid the inevitable, so they might as well make the whole thing about them.
But then, what isn’t?

P.S. Harris also asked about Pompeo’s opinion on gay rights. In all fairness, that seems more relevant to the job than climate change, in that gay CIA agents and straight ones should both be treated with the same level of suspicion and distrust.
