Chuck Todd likened Donald Trump’s Twitter usage to former President Bill Clinton’s many well-documented sexual improprieties Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Meet the Press Daily.”

Todd opened the show by speaking at length about a number of polls purportedly showing Donald Trump’s favorability numbers slumping during a panel discussion. (RELATED: Fake Polls? How CNN And ABC Are Fudging The Numbers To Tank Trump’s Favorability)

“We’ve got new numbers hot off the presses right now from our NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, and they show a bit of a growing crisis of confidence in a President Trump with just three day us until he takes the oath of office,” Todd told his viewers. “Folks, because of the split decision election, there was an asterisk next to trump’s victory, and his job was to figure out if he could erase that asterisk or lighten the color by inauguration day.”

“So far, he’s made things worse,” Todd opined. “The Trump transition approval rating is now eight points underwater. 44 percent, 52 percent disapprove.”

During a discussion about all the premature polling — which is grabbing headlines before Trump has even taken office — Washington Free Beacon editor-in-chief Matthew Continetti pointed out that despite controversies surrounding Trump’s continued use of his personal Twitter account, the President-elect has been working around-the-clock to fight for American jobs.

Todd agreed that Trump could still enjoy popularity in the face of personal negatives — before flipping the script and equating Trump’s behavior online to the many sex scandals that embroiled former President Clinton.

“[There is] something to be learned from Bill Clinton here, right? Bill Clinton, you had some people who just morally, they didn’t like his personal behavior but they always excused it because they felt he was performing in office,” Todd said. “So there is a role model [to follow].”
