President Donald Trump protesters are targeting the GOP retreat in Philadelphia, according to a Thursday report in The Hill.
A Facebook event page created by the group “One Pennsylvania” invited over 16,000 individuals to the protest, which is supposed to start at 11 a.m. Thursday morning and continue until 1 p.m. Trump is scheduled to begin his speech at noon, and Vice President Mike Pence is slated to speak immediately after Trump. Nearly 4,000 people said they plan on attending the protest.
“On January 26, Trump and every Republican member of the House and Senate will gather in Philadelphia to meet for the first time since inauguration to plan their 2017 agenda,” the group posted on its Facebook page. “SHOW UP. TAKE ACTION. TOGETHER, RESIST THEIR AGENDA. RESIST THEIR FIRST ATTACK — ON OUR HEALTH CARE.
“We commit to take non violent direct action to resist any attempts to take away our healthcare. And whatever is next on their agenda of greed and hate, whether it’s deporting our neighbors or building a racist registry – that will also not work. We will continue to stand together, resist, and win. When we struggle together, we win. We are the people, and this is our country.”
The official Twitter account of the Women’s March on Washington tweeted out its support as well, calling on the nearly one million protesters who stormed Washington, D.C., Saturday to head to Philadelphia to protest Trump once more.

Protesters affiliated with Greenpeace climbed a construction crane steps from the White House Wednesday, unfurling a banner that simply said “Resist.”
