Iran reportedly conducted a secret, ballistic missile test on Sunday, which is an “apparent violation” of the United Nations Security Resolution 2231 passed in 2015.

According to Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin, U.S. security officials confirmed the test early Monday.
Griffin stated the “Khorramshahr medium range missile” was launched from Semnan, Iran, and “traveled 600 miles before exploding.”

The missile “failed on the re-entry stage,” and marks Iran’s second ballistic missile test since July.
Resolution 2231, passed only days after the signing of the Iranian nuclear deal, explicitly prohibits Iran from conducting missile tests in any capacity for the next eight years.
