Turns out Donald Trump is really good at this whole “draining the swamp” thing. Late Monday night, the president flushed another swamp creature down the drain. This time it was Acting Attorney General Sally Yates. Yates acted insubordinately; she all but spat in her boss’s face, implying that her history and status in federal government made her more important than the nation’s democratically elected leader. So Trump told her, “You’re fired.”
Trump promised not to let the D.C. bottom-dwellers continue to feed off the American taxpayer. So he sent her home. I’m sure Yates will find another job somewhere. Just nowhere in the venal Washington political ecosystem. Drain, baby, drain.
