Police in Oregon have finally captured a potbelly pig known as “Notorious” and “Piggy Smalls” after organizing a “joint task force” to apprehend it, Oregon Live reported Sunday.

Authorities finally caught the potbelly pig that had “allegedly been harassing residents in the Hawthorne neighborhood of Forest Grove over the last several months,” the Forest Grove Police Department said in a Facebook post.

The pig had eluded capture for months, and has made several appearances in the Forest Grove Police blotter, including three times during a single week in November.

Piggy Smalls will be transferred to an animal rescue center outside Forest Grove city limits, the police said.

The police department said that “there is no ordinance prohibiting the possession of a pig in Forest Grove city limits,” but as pot belly pigs are considered pets, “owners are expected to follow the same rules regarding leashing and cleanup as of any other pet.”
