An exclusive Republican club in New York City violated bylaws by ejecting all Trump supporters, according to a Monday report in the New York Post.

The purge was launched by club President Debbie Coughlin, as well as former President Peter Hein, and board members Bob Morgan III, And Ian Reilly, according to the report.

“They hate Donald Trump, and they were really pissed when he won,” said expelled executive board member Sandra Chase.

Trump supporters reported that the governing board of the club stationed security guards at the meeting where the changes were announced. Several former members allege that club leadership violated several bylaws in order to achieve the purge, chiefly that members were not given a 30 day’s notice of removal, as required by club rules.

The club asserts that the change was simply business as usual. “The Met Club replaced its board members according to its bylaws. It was simply the replacing of the ‘old guard’ by younger blood, something that happens in any organization,” said club chairwoman Adele Malpass. “This had absolutely nothing to do with Donald Trump.”

Former member Allan Stevo asserts that Coughlin donated four separate times to Sen. Chuck Schumer’s action committee, but The Daily Caller News Foundation was unable to corroborate the assertion.
