Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts got in a timely question about President Trump‘s counselor Kellyanne Conway at Thursday’s briefing. The inquiry concerned Conway’s comments on Fox News earlier in the day in which she encouraged consumers to purchase Ivanka Trump merchandise. Conway said she hates shopping but was going to make an exception and go out and buy something from Ivanka’s line that Nordstrom just dumped.

Were Conway’s remarks appropriate? Did she break any laws?

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer‘s reply was short, sweet — and telling?

“Kellyanne has been counseled,” he replied, quickly moving on to the next questioner.

Reaction to Conway’s remarks has been rather explosive. Trump issued a tweet against Nordstrom’s. Many people are accusing Trump and Conway are using the office of the presidency to boost Ivanka’s brand. Even the House Oversight Chairman — Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) —  isn’t too happy about it.
