Border patrol agents last week discovered a catapult on the southern side of the U.S.-Mexico border which was used to launch marijuana into the United States.

Douglas Station Border Patrol agents in Arizona noticed people on the southern side of the border running from the border fence while patrolling east of the Douglas Port of Entry on Feb. 10. When the agents arrived at the fence, they discovered a catapult attached to the Mexico-side of the fence.

The border patrol agents then searched the surrounding area and seized two bundles of marijuana that weighed 47 pounds in total. The U.S. agents also disassembled the catapult, which was then taken by Mexican authorities.

Recently, drug smugglers have been coming up with creative ways to bring drugs into the United States. Last month, smugglers attempted to bring drugs through a commercial shipment of key limes, which also contained faux limes that were packed with marijuana.
