The Islamic State claimed responsibility for two separate bombings that killed numerous civilians in Iraq and Pakistan Thursday.

A suicide bomber attacked a famous Sufi shrine in Sehwan, Pakistan, killing at least 75 people and injuring another 200, reports Fox News. Earlier in the day, a car bomb was detonated at an auto dealership in Baghdad, Iraq, killing 51 people and wounding around 60 others.

Thursday’s bombing in Baghdad marks the third time the Iraqi capital has been hit in three days. ISIS has carried out near-daily attacks in the capital after suffering setbacks in Mosul. At least 24 people were killed in attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday. Security sources say Thursday’s attack was Baghdad’s deadliest in months, according to BBC. Medical personnel suspect that the number of dead may rise as they investigate the situation.

The U.S. Department of State condemned the attack at the car dealership, stating that the bombing showed ISIS’s “utter contempt for human life and its efforts to sow discord and division among the Iraqi people.”

Another four attacks in and around Baghdad killed another eight people and injured 30, according to local authorities.

In Pakistan, the attacker entered the main hall of the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and detonated the explosive device he was carrying. The blast occurred as worshippers danced around the shrine. The attack is considered one of the worst bombings in Pakistan in decades, the Washington Post introduced.

In the past few days, the country has been rocked by violence. A suicide bomber killed 13 in a square in Lahore Monday. Another six people were killed Wednesday in a bombing in Peshawar.

Pakistan’s army chief issued a statement after the attack. “Your security forces shall not allow hostile powers to succeed,” explained General Qamar Javed Bajwa. “Each drop of the nation’s blood will be avenged, and avenged immediately. No more restraint for anyone.”

The Pakistani military is reportedly sending in troops.
