Dutch populist leader Geert Wilders vowed to crack down on “Moroccan scum” in the Netherlands when he launched his election campaign Saturday.

Wilders pledges to ban Muslim immigration, close all mosques and give the Dutch a chance to leave the European Union if his Freedom Party (PVV) comes to power in the March 15 election.

“Not all are scum, but there is a lot of Moroccan scum in Holland who makes the streets unsafe,” he told reporters. “If you want to regain your country, if you want to make the Netherlands for the people of the Netherlands, your own home, again, then you can only vote for one party.”

The party holds a narrow lead in polls with less than a month to go. PVV is unlikely to form a government since other parties refuse to cooperate with Wilders over his tone on immigration.

PVV could still shake up the political map in the Netherlands and give populist parties in Germany and France a boost in elections later this year.

Wilders has a history of targeting Moroccan immigrants. He was convicted of “inciting racial discrimination” in December for remarks he made in 2014. (VIDEO: Geert Wilders Convicted Of ‘Inciting Discrimination’)

Wilders asked supporters at a televised rally if they wanted fewer or more Moroccans in the country. The crowd started chanting “Fewer! Fewer! Fewer!,” and Wilders responded he would take care of it.

No penalty was imposed by the court.
