According to a new poll conducted by Politico and Morning Consult, 48 percent of voters approve of the job Trump has done in office so far, while 45 percent disapprove. That same poll — which survey an estimated 2,000 registered voters — found that 27 percent strongly approve of the president, while 33 percent strongly disapprove.

Morning Consult’s co-founder and chief research officer said the results showed that Trump has “strong support from within his party,” with 85 percent of Republicans approving of his performance.

“But that doesn’t mean they’re ready to give him carte blanche,” Kyle Dropp noted. “Even four in 10 Republicans say congressional Republicans should serve as a check on Trump.”

The results of the Politico/Morning Consult poll were similar to the Rasmussen Reports poll published Tuesday, which showed that 50 percent of voters approve of the job Trump has done in office so far. (RELATED: President Trump Has 50 Percent Approval Rating In Latest Rasmussen Poll)
