The most emotional moment from President Trump’s address to Congress Tuesday night came when he honored Carryn Owens, the widow of the Navy SEAL who was killed during a raid in Yemen in January.
“I just spoke to our great General Mattis, just now, who reconfirmed that ‘Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemies,'” Trump said. “Ryan’s legacy is etched into eternity. Thank you.”
Members of Congress gave Senior Chief William “Ryan” Owens a standing ovation as a tearful Carryn looked upwards and mouthed, “I love you baby.”
