It was touch and go there for a while. But if you were worried about CNN skipping the biggest night of the year, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, here’s some great news!

Whew. That was a close one. I guess they figured that it’s safe to go, now that Trump is skipping it. It’ll be funny to see what they do if he changes his mind, which he’s been known to do.
I applaud CNN’s newfound commitment to the job they’re supposed to be doing anyway, but why weren’t journalism students good enough to bring to the WHCD for the past eight years? CNN guests in recent years have included Diane Lane, Jane Fonda, Kevin Ware, Paul Rudd, and Elizabeth Banks. I don’t remember any of those people doing journalism. Why were they there?
I’m glad journalists have decided to start taking their responsibilities seriously again. It’ll keep them busy until another Democrat gets elected president, whenever that is. Then the media can go back to sleep.
