A conference to discuss racism at Iowa State University Friday was interrupted by a protester with colorful hair and a megaphone.

As Iowa State President Steve Leath was speaking, a student arose with a megaphone, and blasted Leath for allegedly being racist and his “refusal to condemn white supremacist propaganda on this campus is an act of violence.”

“By allowing Donald Trump on this campus and refusing to shut down white supremacy you have put our safety at risk,” the student adds. “You hang out and spend our time and spend our tax money with racists, and you sir, are a racist.”

This is likely in reference to when Leath hosted Trump on campus and walked on the football field with him in September 2015.

The pink-haired activist also said, Leath was “complicit in a system that legalizes and defends homophobia and transphobia, and inflicts upon people’s bodily autonomy.”

“You do not deserve the brilliance of a single student of color in this room,” she said, before directing students to walk out.

About 40-50 students walked out of the conference for the duration of Leath’s speech, returning after he was finished, Campus Reform reports.
