South Korea Impeaches First Female President (Which Sounds Pretty Sexist, TBH)

Font Size:

As Americans have learned over the last couple of years, any criticism of any woman in politics is inherently sexist unless she’s a Republican. Up until now, South Korea has been a beacon of feminism because they elected a woman to be president before the United States did. But now the first woman to become president of South Korea is also the first woman to be impeached. What’s Korean for “Get back in the kitchen and fix me a sandwich,” you misogynist pigs?

CNN:

South Korea’s Constitutional Court has upheld a decision by the country’s National Assembly to impeach President Park Guen-hye.

Park is the first South Korean President to be impeached…

Hundreds of thousands of South Koreans braved the brutally cold winter temperatures to take to the streets of Seoul and call for Park’s ouster.

Wow. Just… wow. I literally can’t even. That country must really hate women!

Here we are, just a couple of days after Kill All Men Day International Women’s Day, and South Korea decides to do this. What sort of signal does this send to young girls? What sort of world to we live in, where the same rules that apply to men also apply to women? Last time I looked, people, it was 2017. Aren’t we past this by now?

You’re a total disappointment, South Korea. We all thought you were so much more enlightened than this. At least your neighbors to the north are still showing us how it’s done.

(Relax, that’s a joke account. I doubt they even know who Lena Dunham is.)

Well, look on the bright side, Hillary Clinton fans. At least she was spared this indignity. She would’ve been impeached eventually anyway, just like her estranged husband was, so we just saved everybody the trouble.

P.S. Is it racist to criticize Koreans? I have trouble remembering the hierarchy of victimhood.
